Hello. How may I serve your world today? What can I do for you?
I can say that when a potential client first contacts me, a common first question is how much...what's the cost.... This isn't always the case, however, sometimes people ask this without even viewing my work first to make sure they like my style of photography. May I share with you some thoughts I have about this? What goes into my cost?

I want to be able to devote attention to each client that walks through my door, you deserve it. This is a special time in your life and Millie Dee takes pride in not only creating beautiful unique photos for our clients, but also in providing a full service experience for you. What does this mean? Well, by not overbooking my schedule and hosting just a certain amount of clients at the studio per month, allows me to spend time with the family that I'm with; allows us to be patient and take breaks that baby or mom may need through out the session. Not over booking also allows time to answer client questions, to meet with them and guide them in choosing their wall prints, consult with them before the session to discuss ideas and create something special and unique for each client. Just like the paint on the walls in your home is a big decision, so are the beautiful portraits that will be hanging on those walls. We want every detail of these portraits to be perfect. We start with a consultation at our studio or via phone, preferably at the studio.
I have a beautiful studio to create our sessions in. My studio is its own brick and mortar free-standing studio, not part of my home. I mention this so families understand they are the only ones that will be in the studio; I think this is important for my clients to know during the times of covid.
The consultation covers many details such as wardrobe, hair, makeup, style, what style would match your home decor, what type of images you'd like to print, would you prefer canvas or framed prints. What size prints do you need? Where in your home do you see your wall art hanging? Do we need to take some measurements? We want your first family portrait to be more than amazing for you. We want you to proudly display these beautiful portraits throughout your home for decades. I have a client wardrobe that we can go through, you're welcome to come and try on gowns and wardrobe pieces before the session to see what will work best for you.
We will discuss any certain colors, props, style you would like to see for the newborn photos. I have put much time and effort into selecting reputable vendors for all of the top quality props in my studio along with all of the backdrops, outfits, swaddles, hair ties, bows, sleepy hats, etc.
Communication with clients is key to providing a wonderful experience for you.
This all happens even before the photo session itself.
Once your session day arrives, we invite you to call us from the car, we will be happy to great you at your car and assist you from the car to the studio with all of your bags, outfits, or whatever you are deciding to bring to your session.
We do have plenty of amenities for parents, such as a well stocked refrigerator of drinks and snacks, coffee, a client lounge area where you can relax in a massage chair and rest while you watch my assistant and I gush over your new little baby as we photograph their little hands and feet, swaddle and pose them in our variety of set ups throughout the studio.
It's a nice warm 75 degrees at the studio, so its a perfect opportunity for parents to relax and take turns napping. The couple of hours you'll be with us at the studio will pass in no time, we will take family portraits near the end of the session, making sure there's not a hair out of place for mom and dad, posing you in classic poses and colors that you will be happy to look at for the next several decades.
As you watch your baby grow up before your very eyes, you will always have these beautiful portraits on the walls in your home to look at and remind you of these first days..when you first brought baby home, while you were still healing yourself, while you were still just getting to know your body again after giving birth, as you...enter...another...stage...of...Motherhood. This is a time for celebration. Celebrating with portraits to signify this momentous occassion in your life is so worthy....so important....so impactful.

Newborn & Maternity Portrait Photography is my Career; it's not a side gig, it's not a second job or part time job. I've made this my career and take my job very seriously. I've invested in several world renowned mentorships which guide me with my photography, teaching me a variety of ways to improve my creativity and my photography business for the clients that I am so grateful to serve.

Professional photographers have invested in their equipment for sure, some of us a lot more than others. There are also plenty of classes I've taken as well to learn the correct way to use my camera to get the right exposure, the right lighting and focus to create the feel or emotion of an image that I want to portray. This also takes post-production/editing work as well, which is created with certain high end software programs and classes to learn how to get the best out of those software programs., which result in beautiful images that my clients enjoy.

I connect with nurses several times through out the year to stay updated on the latest information on newborn safety. I also invest in safety courses to ensure I know about the latest newborn safety precautions, along with many other photography courses throughout the year to make sure my skills stay on point and also to improve my skills. Many newborn poses take skill and knowledge to create in a certain way to keep the baby safe. The safety of your newborn baby is always my top priority. This is also why I have an assistant with me during my newborn sessions; an extra set of hands around the baby comes in handy. This assistant also ensures that Mom and Dad and perhaps siblings and pets are all comfortable and have amenities on hand in the client lounge while the session is taking place.

I also work with reputable vendors to ensure the highest quality printable items, albums, wall art, canvases, etc for my families. You can consider me your personal concierge of portraits. I am with my families for all details before they ever walk into my door, preparing them for their portraits with wardrobe, styling, what fabrics and colors will be best for them, guide them to get the best out of them during a session, guide them through sizing portraits at the reveal session and get to see their faces when they see final products in their hands for the first time.
I've done the research; it's part of my job as a professional photographer to help answer any questions you have about what to wear, how to style your portraits, what best will match your style and your home, answer questions about the best image sizes for the walls in your home, what color combinations or types of prints may work best for your needs. Your large wall art prints are ordered through me only using exclusive printing companies that work exclusively with professional photographers; their printers can handle the file sizes of professional portraits; they guarantee the quality and color. You and I create your albums and wall art; its my duty to ensure that the investment you make into your newborn or maternity photo session results in high quality images and high quality printed pieces. I am here to serve my clients from before they walk into my door until they have their prints in hand.
