When Dads take over the photo session

This is the quintessential spirit of a new father, and we were so grateful to capture this for Mom. Mom was behind the scenes for alot of the photos. We worked with this family for maternity photos, so we had a bond and several discussions on what we wanted the newborn photos to look like.

Millie Dee Photography is realizing that the trend in newborn photography isn’t so much about posed photos of the baby anymore; yes, families still want them, but there’s a greater focus on capturing natural and authentic moments between parents and their newborn baby. It is a great honor and responsibility to be behind the camera for a newborn session at Millie Dee Photography, where we strive to work closely with families to create a unique experience for them, resulting in one-of-a-kind and memorable moments and photos that they can cherish forever.

We’re creating more spontaneous moments, with a little bit of pose in there, too, to polish the pictures. Who wouldn’t want this photo hanging up on a wall?

We offer several types of sessions, and for this session, we had a team behind the scenes to help make this all happen. This wouldn’t happen in a mini session. In these longer sessions, we learn more about our families and there is more opportunity to be creative and tune into family reactions and see what they love and create more of those images and moments at the studio for them.

Yes, Dad ideas are always great and Dad brought these matching sneakers for him and his new little baby boy. I have so many newborn baby outfits and this little muscle tee onesie was a perfect addition to the picture, don’t you think?
